Gloucester Folk Music at the Manship Barn Studio

Dan King and Manship Artists Residency present an Evening of Folk Music curated from the Gloucester 400+ Manship Folk Project. The latter collaboration evolved in recognition of Gloucester’s rich music scene – past and present.

Conceived by native son, musician, and producer Dan King, this local Folk Project is rendered as a celebration of the phenomenal talent of the musicians who generously share their incredible gifts and who live among us on Cape Ann and in Gloucester today.

Gloucester’s Folk Volume One was recorded, photographed, and produced at the Manship Artists Residency in the Fall of 2021 and 2022 during the pandemic. If you would like to learn more about the project, hear stories, and listen to the music produced, click on this link: dankingandfriends.com.

In celebration of this album Manship Artist Residence hosted and recorded a select group of acoustic performers at MARs Barn, including:

Dan King (modern folk)

Charlee Bianchini (modern folk)

Bill Gleason (Blues)

Audi, Zinnia + Peter Sou (Sea Shantys)
